I'm quite the photographer!:)

I just wanted to post this picture I took last night after the rain storm. I thought it was pretty cool so I sent it to channel 2 news. You'll have to watch for it to see if they use it!

Playin' in the rain!!

I thought it would be fun to snap a few pictures of Ty while he was playing in the rain. We went outside tonight when we heard the huge downpour. We all watched from the front porch while Ty would run back and forth in the rain!:)

I tried to get Jase to do it, but he wasn't willing!

So me and Ty had races to the tree. He thought it was really great. So did I!!! I think we forget how fun it is to be a kid!:)

I AM NOT HAPPY!

Let me tell you a little about our experience yesterday. Well this project started about a month ago. We have some windows on the North side of our house we decided to take out. So we had the outside re-stuccoed(if that's even a word), and Bret has been working for weeks getting the inside mud and taped. We finally decided yesterday that we were ready to paint. So we went to Home Depot to choose a color and get started. Keep in mind we've already mad a few trips there to ask some important paint questions. For starters, our house is painted in oil-base paint. Well when we painted the boy's room a few months ago we went to a Kwal Paint store and we were told if we wanted latex paint we needed to first prime it with an oil base primer. Well to move on with the story, multiple people at Home Depot told us about this great new product they have. It's their new Behr primer + paint all in one. Of course the first question we ask is, "Can you use this on oil base paint?"

"Oh, this stuff will adhere to anything!", the man said.

So, we bought. We were still a little skeptical based on previous information, but we figured the painting department knew what they were talking about.

So me and Bret (mostly Bret) tape and paint our wall. After about 3 hours when the product is finished Bret goes to pull off the tape. And guess what? The paint comes with it!

To try and make a LONG story short, we headed back to Home Depot to tell them what happened, got our money back, and went to ask the painting department the best way to get this off our wall. A different girl this time says, "Oh, you can't paint over oil base paint with this!" All I could think was, oh really! So she tries to get us to buy this weird latex paint remover for cars, tile, drive-ways, and some other weird places, but nowhere does it say you can use it on walls. So needless to say we didn't get it! We just spent the next six hours trying to get this stupid paint off our wall!

I think one of the crapiest parts is that it came off the painted part of the wall really well, but where the brand new dry wall and mud is it adhered to.

Here is the completed mess! Now we get to call someone who does dry wall because now we get to texture our whole room over so that you won't be able to tell what a mess it was.

I AM NOT HAPPY!!

Oh, and here is what a half gallon of Behr Premium primer + paint all in one looks like scraped off an oil base paint wall. We have decided we will be doing all our future paint purchases at Kwal!

Brad Paisley here we come!!!

Me and Bret scored some awesome Brad Paisley concert tickets yesterday. He is coming on September 19, and I am so excited! We haven't done anything this fun for a long time. The last time we went to a concert together was to Kenny, and I was barely pregnant with Jase. That was 3 years ago!! I will definitely take my new Panasonic lumix 5x optical zoom camera and post some pictures!!:) (I'm in a weird mood, don't ask!) The down side is that now I have to wait 3 months to go! I will try to be patient!!

Welcome Home!

Baby Hayden finally came home yesterday. We went out to Aunt Dee's to welcome him home. It was the first time the boys got to see him, and boy did they think he was great. Aunt Dee was so nice to let both of them take a turn holding him. Ty just kept saying, "Mom look how little his ears are." He is so funny. Jase wouldn't let him out of his sight. He was so fascinated!


Brinley (Hayden's sister) wanted to hold him, but Jase kept saying, "NO, me turn!"

You forget how little they are when they first come home!

Jase just kept watching Hayden. Sometimes a little too close!!

Welcome baby Hayden!

This is my brand new nephew Hayden William! Isn't he so stinkin' cute?! I am so thrilled for my sister and her family. It has been a long road to get here, but they finally made it. Yeah!! He was born on May 14. He hopefully will be coming home soon. Lyn, if you're reading this, congratulations on this beautiful new baby boy. We love him so much!

Happy Mother's Day!!

Happy Mother's Day to all you mom's! I never realized what a special day this was until I had kids of my own. There's nothing that touches your heart more than your babies hugging and kissing you, and wishing you a happy mother's day.

Ty made me this darling plate at preschool last week, and he hid it when he got home and told me I couldn't see my present until Mother's day! He actually lasted until today to give it to me! I couldn't believe it. Then they both decided they wanted to draw me a picture. What priceless gifts! I am so thankful to have two great kids!

On top of all that, Bret woke up this morning and made me my favorite lemon poppy seed muffins! Not only do I have awesome boys, but an awesome husband too! What more could you ask for on this special day!!:)
